SPEAKER_00

This podcast was produced on the land of the Warundry people of the Colonel Nation.

SPEAKER_04

Sorry about this. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Josh Taylor. Hello. Hello.

SPEAKER_03

Hello. How's it going?

SPEAKER_00

It's going super. Thanks, babe. How are you?

SPEAKER_03

So good. Great to be here, as I'm sure everyone says at the start of the big book.

SPEAKER_00

It better be. If it's not great to be here, you can fuck right off. Um how are you going with uh Aussie Survivor? It's the new era of Aussie Survivor.

SPEAKER_03

It is the new era. I think someone was saying that they didn't like the idea of calling it the new era, but are you embracing the new era?

SPEAKER_00

I'm embracing, I'm leaning in. It does feel a little bit different. Not hugely, but enough that I'm gonna call it that.

SPEAKER_03

Fair enough.

SPEAKER_00

With love. Um and you found the buff and the cash from the golden god himself in Adelaide.

SPEAKER_03

I found the buff and the cash. Oh, so like they were running the promotion where they were hiding a buff from the redemption season along with$500 in every capital city around Australia, and I kept seeing it pop up for the other states. I was like, oh, comes to Adelaide, I'll like I'll try and keep an eye on it.

SPEAKER_00

I'll give it a go.

SPEAKER_03

We'll see how we go.

SPEAKER_00

I definitely got it sent to me, and by the time I could even think about where that was, it had already gone.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, there was a lot of luck involved. Um, but I was at home, it was 9 30 p.m. I was cleaning my house, I sat on the couch for five minutes, um, and I opened my Instagram, and it's just the first thing that popped up, and it's like, hey, we're in Adelaide, and Nick and Dave had said we've hidden the buff. Here's the location.

SPEAKER_00

Friend of the Pod Nick.

SPEAKER_03

Friend of the Podnik, that's alright. Um, it was uh posted 11 minutes prior, and so I was like, oh, that's actually pretty recent. And I saw where they hit it, and I recognized the spot immediately. I was like, Oh, I recognized in the city at your house, effectively. Yes, it was just in my house, in my backyard. Um, I reckon that spots I did a quick Google and I was like, just double check, this is what I'm thinking is the place that I'm thinking of, and it was in the city. I was like, oh shit, do I do I go? Do I get in the car? I was like in my underwear, vacuuming the floor. Where was it? It was in like the plaza, like if you know Festival Plaza in the city.

SPEAKER_00

Not near the not Rundle Mall, I'm thinking of the It was attached to a ball.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay, right, right, right. So I recognized it, threw some clothes on, got in the car, I got there in about nine minutes, and then ran from the car, got to where the spot that I thought it was, couldn't see anyone else looking, and I it was the second kind of bush that I looked in, found it, but it's in a bush 500 bucks. It was in a bush. Amazing. Trust me to recognize the bushes in Adeline.

SPEAKER_00

What did you spend the cash on?

SPEAKER_03

Uh it immediately bought me my uh PT sessions for the next month.

SPEAKER_00

Amazing. Get you in shape for next season of survival. I need to get there it is.

SPEAKER_03

Pop up.

SPEAKER_00

And it's a oh, it's a a barren themed. A barren buff.

SPEAKER_03

It is the redemption themed buff. So I might wear that for the rest of the pod.

SPEAKER_00

You look gorgeous, isn't it? Uh stunning. Are you watching 50 simultaneously with no because you know how friggin' hard it is to access?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's right. Pain in the bar. So I haven't got onto it, but I'm confirming you're not missing out.

SPEAKER_00

Like it's good, but it's not it's not it. I want it to be better, but it's I'm still enjoying it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I've heard it's still like living up to the current uh American survivor um standard, which is not fantastic.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean, someone did shit themselves last week, so I did enjoy that. Uh that was Chef's Kiss, thank you for that. But everything else, I'm like, come on. Look, I might I might dabble.

SPEAKER_03

We'll see how we go.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, you should. I feel like it's yeah, I feel like later on, when it's near the end, that'll be fun, depending on who's left.

SPEAKER_03

It's one week per episode, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Oh, that's so slow. I know. And it's such a binge, it's a show you want to binge. I think we've got it perfectly. Mind you, can I complain for one second? Don't love Monday to Wednesday. That's that's new. Throw my show driver. Throw my show driver, but also it just doesn't, I don't know. Like, I feel like Sunday night is when you want to fuck with Survivor, right? It's like that's a really nice night to like it's like I don't know if they're trying to not compete with maps on that night or what, but yeah, they've changed it. Yeah, and I'm I'm not okay.

SPEAKER_03

Not coping.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm really not. Um, firstly, as well, this week we had some controversy. We had idle gate. Did you follow this at all? No, please do. We need to talk about Idol Gate. Um, so last week when Brooke played her idol at the trail. Yeah, and everyone was like, I'm talking about the the switcheroo idols that Brooke and Lindell artfully swapped at that challenge, fumbly swapped at that challenge. The T's and C's, honey, the T's and C's were not disclosed to the viewer. Uh so come on, Golden God, let's let's start putting the fine print on the screen. So she claims that she was told that it was a pre-Twart tribe swap idol. Who told her that? I don't know. Someone behind the camera, Golden God himself. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Who claimed that? Brooke or Lindell? Brooke.

SPEAKER_00

Brooke. Because she because everyone after that episode was like, Why did you play your idol, you fucking idiot? She's like, I had to, it was the last time I could play it.

SPEAKER_03

That that's what I thought is why she did it. But also from what they said to the viewers, it was like, you just have to play it on that tribe. So Lindell seemed to think she could still use hers.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, they really took some liberties with our capacity to understand what's going on. Like, come on. Like, normally they're spoon feeding us the story, but when it comes to this shit, they're like, oh, you you guys could just figure figure it out.

SPEAKER_02

But then but then Lindell leaves and they don't mention a single thing about her idol.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that was the thing, because when she left, I was like, she had I was screaming like she has an idol in her pocket, but that but no, she didn't.

SPEAKER_01

Well, or did she?

SPEAKER_03

Go back a step after the tribe swap. She said on camera, oh, it's really convenient that I still have this idol and I'm still in the same tribe that I can use it on. So that aired. And then they just didn't air the fact that she was like, Oh, I've got this idol I didn't get to use. So either they she didn't get the right information, or they told her afterwards, like, oh no, you've lost your chance to use it, love. Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Well, so Mike Bloom on uh Blue Sky says, just finished talking to Lindell, where she said they actually did take her idol at the tribe swap. So at the tribe swap, someone walked down and was like, All right, everyone, strip, no idols coming. You they all got patted down, no idols coming to your new beach, but we didn't see it.

SPEAKER_02

But then she mentioned it on camera.

SPEAKER_00

I honestly they are fucking with us. Um I also before we jump into the episode, I want to talk crush crush pics. Uh this week I am all eyes for Ben. I think Ben is so fucking sexy. Uh, there's often scenes of him just kind of staring off into the distance. Yes, in his photos. And he's got just like a natural blue steel. He's a very sexy man. Who who are you who are you crushing on this way?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, look, in all honesty, yeah, there I did see on Simon's um Instagram, he posted a comment that someone had made about are we watching Survivor or Heated Rivalry when Ben and him are like wrestling in the water? And I think there was a lot of people going, which which show are we watching?

SPEAKER_00

Simon is a queer baiting professional at this point. He knows what we want and he gives it to us.

SPEAKER_03

I think he knows exactly what he's doing.

SPEAKER_00

We say thank you for that.

SPEAKER_02

And he's like, Oh no, I don't go to the gym. I just I just work out, I just work on the trade site. What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_00

George Ann. Yeah, he's just lifting heavy beams and tradey tools. Huge week, huge week, so let's get into it. Uh, let's start at episode seven. It's called Leopards Don't Change Their Spots. I actually don't even keep up with the names of the episode, so I I love the only I'm the only person that looks them up because I find them quite funny. Uh Baron Tribe Post Tribal Uh Faith is not hot on the outcome, which was a Johnson vote. Yeah. Uh what did you think of Johnson? Was that we happy to see him go?

SPEAKER_03

Uh like yeah, look, I I didn't really care much for him to be honest. I think that he was uh he kind of obviously has dabbled in reality TV before, so he kind of knew how to be entertaining and sort of create a little bit of drama, but we didn't really see much of his story, and I heard after the fact that he had a lot of he was complaining about a lot of stuff that didn't actually get to air a bit about his story.

SPEAKER_00

Try harder, be more entertaining.

SPEAKER_03

And so he was like, Oh, they they cut way heaps out of my story.

SPEAKER_00

Cut all my bits.

SPEAKER_03

Like if you're gonna invest in your story, mate. Like you've got to be there for the long term. Like they're investing heavily in like Mark's story, so it makes me think he's probably gonna be there a while. Um, but obviously not his because he's like, Well, you're not gonna be here long, we're not gonna invest much time in your story, mate.

SPEAKER_00

They're very good at squeezing. I've got to say, I think that in the new era of Australian Survivor, I think the editing is spot on. They are just like bang, bang, bang, very little filler happening. It's just kind of like this is what you need to know, and they will squeeze all of the story out of someone before they go.

SPEAKER_04

I love that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so didn't care much for him, wasn't sad to see him go. There was kind of this I don't know if it was a real or kind of pseudo um rivalry between him and Mark, but it didn't really go anywhere. It was just kind of like it kind of climaxed to nothing, and so when he was gone, I was like, see you later, buddy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, um, the tribes walk in through the mud to this reward challenge, nearly losing their shoes, which I did find quite weird. And they're all talking about tribe swap, they're all like, oh, is this gonna be the swap? And um no swap at the start. No swap. We're saying, no, it's it's we're we're playing for pies. Golden gods like hot pies, which I was like, okay. So they do this commando net thing. I actually quite liked this challenge with the ball rolling above there. And yeah, uh, Cameron was a beast in this one. Anyway, uh they win some pies, but then it's I don't understand.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, you did see Faith, I think, do a little bit. They should be far more ruthless with the other. If they're versing someone, I would be kicking that ball for you. Oh, would you?

SPEAKER_02

Or you'd be like, fuck off, go get your own bow and be so dirty.

SPEAKER_00

I love it. They all looked hot, covered in the mud. I love that. Yeah, Ben always looking like a snack, and then post pie win, they're like, drop your buffs. And I was like, my first thought was hang on, what's happened to these pies? Exactly. I was like, weird time to do it, but okay. Will they eat the pies before the swap? Will the pies be eaten after the swap? I was very concerned for the logistics of that. Um, but it was kind of a cute little twist, wasn't it? It was like um they get the pies delivered.

SPEAKER_03

You can go and do your pies at your new tribe. Yeah, they could not share them, was kind of like I think in that situation there was kind of a little bit of like, oh, I feel like I have to share this pie that I really want to eat by myself now, because I need to like get on side with some people. So some of them are slitting their pies, and I'm like, in their heads, they're probably going, Mark, I just want to eat this whole pie to myself.

SPEAKER_01

It's not a big pie.

SPEAKER_00

We get the swap then revealed, it's one by one. Um, so New Baron is Asher, Ben, Blanche, Brooke, Cameron, Jackson, Lottie, Loz, and Simon. Yeah. And New Bounty is Don, Lindell, Tez, Caleb, Faith, Keeley, Mark, and Richard. So that's the one where only Lyndall and Richard remain from Bounty, and they welcome all these new people into their into their um their space. Which that was yeah, them trying to be the welcoming committee. I was like, ooh.

SPEAKER_03

I think they were just trying to be nice, trying to be like, okay, we're in a bad spot here. Let's just let's just pretend like this is our place that they're invite we're inviting them into.

SPEAKER_00

Did not work. And so now we've also got Brooke and Simon together on Baron. Yeah. Um, with Mark on his own as an OG on on Bounty. But I feel like he loves that. He's living for these newbies and kind of like playing them.

SPEAKER_03

Mind you, they are kind of running rings around him a little bit, but it's yeah, well, like he he he knows what he's doing, like he's not gonna sit idly by and just get voted off as a returney, and they've mentioned it plenty of times, but he's he's doing the hard yards, he's making connections with lots of people, so kudos to him, he's doing very well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and now he's got his blazer buddy. Um he's got rich there, and he's this bit where they speak Thai together. I was like, Stop.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't even know he could speak Thai, so I found that quite interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Just two white men on my screen speaking Thai to each other was not what I had on my bingo card, but snaps to them. Uh at New Baron, Jackson starts the pie sharing thing, shares his pie with Ben. Thought that was very nice. Uh, Blanche introduces herself. She's like, I'm single and ready to mingle with those big boltons.

SPEAKER_03

What do you think of Blanche? I'll I'll kind of want more. We haven't seen enough of her, exactly. We haven't seen enough of her, and I'm like, you know what? She says she looks like a riot absolute hoot. So I'm hoping we get to see a little bit more of her because she seems like a fun time. She's like, yeah, like midlife crisis.

SPEAKER_01

I'm here, I'm a survivor. Like we're ready to live life.

SPEAKER_00

Perfect casting. And I was like, I want more of that. I'm like waiting for more Blanche content.

SPEAKER_03

I know we're seeing a little bit more of her in the confessionals and a little bit of her sort of jumping ship and strategizing with the other team now, but like I just want to see more of her, like having fun.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she needs to win a like spa retreat reward. I want to see that. I want her with champagne and like a face mask and like getting drunk and yeah, yeah, getting a bit loose. She spills all the tea to Cameron straight away. She's like ready to jump shit. Like, yeah, I'm out of there. Um, Arsha also, star of this week. I thought she was a great character this week. She's very funny.

SPEAKER_04

Good job.

SPEAKER_00

She's doing very well. She's no, she's my kind of girl. She's no nonsense. She's just like, oh, she's like, oh, that that guy, Simon Grotes, get rid of him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, she's she knows how to work the camera, which is good. Great, funny character, and she's got a good story that we're following along. She is taking a little bit of control, so definitely an Arsha fan. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

Huge at New Bounty, it's just Rich and Lindell. Uh, there's also some pie sharing, and Mark is still haunted by the ghosts of his past.

SPEAKER_03

He's really hammering that one. The ghosts of the forest, he says.

SPEAKER_00

The forest ghosts. He is open, though, to working with Richard and Lindell, but he's also, you know, he's got his girlies on the go. But little does he know the girlies are also dabbling with what they call the three wise women. A lot of lot of alliance names this week.

SPEAKER_03

There were a few introduced this week. Everyone loves a good a good alliance name. I have to say, my favourite one so far, which I think they did very well and have used quite a lot, is Head Office. Head Office is good. Head Office, I will let it. It's a banger.

SPEAKER_00

That one I was like, yes. And because with the case, some of them I'm just a bit like corn chip alone. Oh, corn corn chip cartels? What? The beauty and the beasts can fuck right off. That one I was like, yeah. No, I like the head off women. That was a banger. Three wise women was pretty good too. Give that. Okay with that. So that's Sally, Keely, and Faith. Yeah. Obviously, Keely and Faith are a tight two. Yes. Um, so we shall see where that goes. I'm looking forward to that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Sally seems to be a little bit of a tack on there, but they're using that, which is good on them.

SPEAKER_00

Can we talk about Rich's like surprise hot rig as well? Every now and then I'm like, whoa, damn.

SPEAKER_01

Where did that come from? Yeah, nothing.

SPEAKER_00

What's going on there?

unknown

Mr.

SPEAKER_00

CEO.

SPEAKER_03

When he gets that blazer off, Mr. CEO, yeah. He's actually like, I thought he was kind of gonna be when I first was introduced to him, I was kind of like, oh, I feel like he might be a little bit corny, a little bit dry, but he's actually gotten funnier and a bit more like strategic than I'd realized from from the beginning.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, oh yeah, you know what? I'm actually vibing you, you're not as like I don't know, vanilla as I thought. I'm with you. I was on the fence. In fact, I had an adverse reaction the first week, and the second week I was on the fence, and this week I'm like, oh yeah, good character for the show.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, 100%.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Keely is like Keely's running the fucking show.

SPEAKER_03

This is where she really like appeared.

SPEAKER_00

A queen is born, a star is born. She's like, Caleb and Tez are out of here.

SPEAKER_03

She called the shots pretty much all week this week, I reckon, on that tribe.

SPEAKER_00

She did. And Faith is like, yeah, babe, I'm not down with Mark just telling us what to do.

SPEAKER_03

I'm surprised. Like, I get, I mean, I you know, when you're not there, you kind of can't put yourself in their shoes, but you at the same time, I'm like, why are they wanting to just dance around Mark and like get this person who's next to Mark and this person who's next to Mark? Just get Mark.

SPEAKER_00

Just get Mark. I know I think you've got enough people to get Mark like that. Hey, take the go shoot big, shoot for the stars. You might have one shot. Like Simon says, you know, stranger things have happened. Next week, you might not be able to because they might do some twist fuckery. So just do it while you can.

SPEAKER_03

I think they have they have the numbers to get him. They just do it. Like, don't waste. Like, let's just get keep getting his alliance members out until we finally go, oh, now we can get like just get it.

SPEAKER_00

The the newbies have had the odds stacked against them from the start. There was only ever four of them versus you know, however, is it twenty is it 24 people cast? Yeah. 20 people to four. Like, pretty easy to take them out, really, if you wanted to.

SPEAKER_03

And you've got agency to go, they've played this game before, let's not fuck around with that. Yeah. Although, in saying that, if I was there, I would be like, no, I want to play with someone who's played before. I'd be like buddying up to them.

SPEAKER_00

I don't yeah, you're right. It would be fun, and then you kind of know that you're getting screen time as well. Let's be real, because that is also a part of the show. Yeah. So I think there's a few people doing that for sure.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, 100%.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. We get an immunity challenge, the first one of the new tribes. Uh, and this is where Caleb does a dirty Harry impression that is later deemed to be disrespectful.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I thought this was hilarious. I was like, I didn't realize that they were so annoyed by it until the following episode when they brought it up, and I was like, oh, like a little bit lame, sure, but disrespectful, surely not. And then I mean, I did love the the whole acting bit with Rich and Mark, and they were he was like solemnly sad, and then when they saw him, they were like, nah, he's putting it on, and then later they were absolutely convinced. They were like, Oh no, they stole that off of him. I was like, who on their right mind is stealing clothes off of someone's literal bat?

SPEAKER_00

It's getting single white female, and where did he get the toothpick from? Was that a a certified dirty hair toothpick?

SPEAKER_03

Maybe, maybe it's the pack that he had with him. So he probably got it from one of the reward challenges.

SPEAKER_00

Even Harry's moved on from the toothpick.

SPEAKER_03

Like, so I don't know. But he he he did have it on his last episode when he left. Oh sitting in tribal. He was like, Yep, touched Jackson, you got me. He was fiddling with his toothpick.

SPEAKER_00

I saw that poor hand this season. Poor babe. Uh all right, at this challenge. Fuck, I can't remember what this one was. I think what was it? They were versus each other. I don't know. Down.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, which bitch wasn't that?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I remember now. It was the tiles. They had to smash tiles. It was Don versus Jackson at the end. The ladder, Don who loves telling us he's very good at everything, including throwing.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my goodness. I'm surprised they didn't get pissed off at him earlier. I thought they were going to angle for that because they kept playing that bit of him being like, no, I'll do it. No, I'll do it. Oh, you didn't do it good enough. Yeah, I thought he was gonna fall flop. They're gonna use that against him. And then they didn't really.

SPEAKER_00

They could have went in because he did like Jackson beat him at this moment, so they really should have played that up. He misses it.

SPEAKER_03

Love those edits when they stitch the contestants up.

SPEAKER_00

So uh so that means new. Bounty are heading to tribal. Mark is getting cocky. He thinks it's See you later, Sally. But little does he know that his girlies and Sally are the three wise women's. So they are like, no, no, it's Caleb or Tez. Keely tells Mark she wants Tez, and he's like, not keen, and blah blah blah. And it's a bit of a push and pull at this point.

SPEAKER_03

Isn't this where he's like, okay, I'll just concede and give you that one.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then thought he was doing a huge thing, didn't he?

SPEAKER_03

Well, it started that way, and then when it came, the the information came back around to him that Sally had mentioned his name even one time, he was very quick to be like, Cool, I'm gonna like convince everyone not Sally needs to go. And basically steamrolled them and was like, Sally's going, she's mentioned my name, nah, it's happening. And a few of them were like, Oh, okay, I guess that's what's happening, but uh the girlies were like, No, mate.

SPEAKER_00

You cannot tell these queens what to do, Mark.

SPEAKER_03

I think he's been pushing those boundaries and trying where he can, but yeah, probably this is the vote where he realized, oh, they're not just gonna do what I tell them to do.

SPEAKER_00

No, and Keely is telling us that she works a lot with criminals in her day-to-day life, but she wants to feel how it feels to be she wants to be the criminal, she wants to be dirty, Keely. Uh or Nora at Tribal, Caleb is annoyed at Tez. Uh, Tez, can we just talk about what is going on with Tez at the time? Oh my gosh. As soon as they get to Tribal, Tez is like a mess.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I've been waiting to have this conversation. Because this week, I don't know, if you could name all three episodes this week, I would call it Tez's soapbox or something. Because like it was Mopi Tez for three episodes straight, and I was like, what is this man doing?

SPEAKER_00

And then Tez versus Golden God at Travel being like, oh, God and God, you always ask me all the hardest questions. I'm like, have you seen this show before, babe? Like, you need to bat it back. You need to go, well, that's a good question, Golden God. But uh, I guess we'll see what happens later tonight. Like, you have to just give the media answer.

SPEAKER_03

Give them the little tidbits, but no, and you always dance around an actual answer. You never actually say it. You're like, well, I guess, you know, alliances could be shifting, and we're gonna find out.

SPEAKER_00

Golden God's a true, like, hey Tez, how are you going? And he's like, What? Who am I voting with? Oh, I don't know. What's happening? Credit.

SPEAKER_03

Credit to Dave's professionalism when Tez goes, You're clearly looking at me like I don't know what I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_00

It's like, no, I'm just taking it all in. I'm just listening, mate, just taking all that was taking on another. That's a very professional host right there. So awkward. I would have been like, sorry.

SPEAKER_01

I'm surprised he wasn't just like laughing, being like, Yes, you are very hard to understand.

SPEAKER_02

But just taking it all in, mate. It's just got a lot of information to process. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But in reality, it was like, what the fuck are you saying?

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

Um, so Tez, like, yeah, soapbox Tez, I I feel I I part of me is like, what are you doing? And part of me just feels sorry for the man because like everyone's taken him for a ride, and he's standing there going, I won't be told what to do, but then he does what he's told to do.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then he'll be like, Oh, I want to take control, but then keeps going, so who do who do I who do I vote for? Where do I put my vote? Like, I want to take control, but I also don't know what I'm doing. Like, he had an opportunity when Mark whispered across that tribal to be like, Oh, you're voting for Rich now. When they were like, 'cause he could tell they were just using him, because they're like, Oh, we're not gonna tell you too later. He's like, Well, clearly they don't trust me. He had an opportunity to go, hey Rich, they just told me to put your name down. You and Lindell were together, why don't us three create a block right now? Let's just vote Mark off. We can easily pull in one more person, we'd have a majority. He just needed to grab a little bit of charge there. He could have got one of them off. I honestly believe if he had been like, Rich, these guys are not with you. Now you need to jump against them because that you're gonna get picked up one by one. Like he could have done something there, or at least try.

SPEAKER_00

So we get some Sally's a Tez, and then it just is all on Don. And we say, boy, to our country singer, which to be fair, writing was on the wall for Sir Don. Um for this world, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Days were wondered.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I loved they put in Keely's on her vote. She's like, Don, you are done. I was hoping she would have written Don with like an E in the brackets in the end.

SPEAKER_03

That's yeah, that's what I was hoping for.

SPEAKER_00

That would have been the slide. Uh, episode eight is called I Want His Pants. Great title. Um, also a Keely quote, our quawn. And we start at the Bounty Tribe Post Tribal. Keely is stoked that Don is gone, but she's got a bit of explaining to do to Mark now, who's a bit flustered by these wise women's. Uh he's kind of mad at it all. He's like, Oh, egos are being involved, and I'm like, Well, is that the case? Or are they just more than good on Keely though?

SPEAKER_03

Because he didn't really have anywhere to go, so he couldn't kick up a fuss because that's his alliance. He had to just go, Well, I've got to suck this one up because yeah, if I get the shitty, they're just gonna get they're gonna kick me out even more.

SPEAKER_00

So oh Mark has sooky pants here. He's like, it goes as far to say as he's been portrayed. Yeah, which I was like, honey, uh you don't you have to play the shit cool. I don't know, I probably I'd probably behave in this exact same way. But um, I feel like the best approach is to just be like, oh yeah, cool man, and then go and like scream into some sand somewhere.

SPEAKER_03

Pretty much.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know what I mean? Like, don't give them anything.

SPEAKER_03

Um he kind he gets annoyed in the confessional, he kind of like confronts her right back in trouble. Then he kind of like sits down, I think.

SPEAKER_00

They get over it. And Faith tells us he's a little boy, didn't get his way. Yeah, which I thought was stunned. At the Baron Tribe, uh, Bolton Blanche feels included by the new tribe. She's lit, she's thriving over there. She's like, These people are fun, they get me.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, she's into it. Yeah, she's been embraced with open arms for sure.

SPEAKER_00

Her and Usha have some strat chat and they agree on Brooke, which I was like, whoop.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, look, I think Brooke is gonna have a hard time. They like thankfully, in her favour, her tribe has not been to tribal. So they've had the opportunity to she's had an opportunity to dodge anything, which is gonna put her in good stead to make it to merge. Obviously, she finds an idol, I'm pretty sure this episode. Um, so which would even well that was this episode right?

SPEAKER_00

Depending on the T's and C's of the idol. Yes, true. So this is the bit now where Ben and Brooke go hunting for Guy Sebastian. Yes, which I was like, sorry. Ben's dad jokes are equal parts concerning and sexy. Uh but when he's like, he's like, oh yeah, we've got to find Guy Sebastian, they're like, Guy Sebastian's like, yeah, because he's an idol.

SPEAKER_03

I had a little chuckle. I thought it was funny.

SPEAKER_00

Brooke, um Brooke is going to the top 12 in Sydney.

SPEAKER_03

I do, I do, I do love she's going to the top 12 in Sydney. I do love the oh, what what colour is the package? And she's literally just put it in a bag.

SPEAKER_00

She's like, you know, it's just kind of like the colour of this colour. Kind of beige grey. I don't know. If only I had one to imagine she got it out accidentally. It's like this. In fact, it looks exactly like this. Uh so yeah, she finds it and does a great job of hiding it from everyone.

SPEAKER_03

So she's a idol.

SPEAKER_00

And I hope this one doesn't expire soon.

SPEAKER_03

But I think it sounds seems like a stable, steady, normal, regular idol. And like I said, I think this is put her in a good stead to make it to merge. And if she hits merge, I think she's gonna be a lot more dangerous because she's pretty good at those individual immunities. I don't think she's gonna be able to make it all the way just because she is such a big threat and people are gonna turn on her eventually. And she knows that. She already voiced that.

SPEAKER_00

She's a triple threat. She's played before, she's been on all stars, she's gorgeous, she's beautiful, she's a great player. Like I would be taking her out as well.

SPEAKER_03

Hence why the the chat's happening all around her at the moment.

SPEAKER_00

At New Bounty, Keeley wants Caleb's pants. Did I miss this part? She goes, I want Caleb's pants. I think it's meaning if we get rid of him, I can't pants because they're not clothing. Because they're doing this this hand-me-down thing that started with the gay pastor, um, where he like gave his jacket over, and now they're like, Oh yeah, when you leave, you have to hand down the clothing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, they want his pants.

SPEAKER_00

They want his pants. A new alliance is formed. This is where head office is born. It's just Kylie, Baith, and Mark. So they've been alliance for a while, but it's got a name now. My favorite is they're like, they've got contractors.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Like I said, it works in so many ways. This is why I think this Alliance then was the best in the season so far. Like we've got contractors, we've sent out a memo, and we're gonna tell people like it was all of the terminology. Angels parts fantastic.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's giving Karen from finance with the parts. It's giving Karen for fun. Oh my god. Uh, at the Immunity Challenge, the other tribe are shocked to see Don gone, but also not at all. And this is when they start talking about the clothing of the deceased. Yeah, and Rich and Simon exchange a hat, and in doing so, there's a little whisper hug where he's like, Rich is like, you gotta throw it. You gotta throw the challenge, man. I'm like, have you met Simon? I don't think Simon's capable of throwing. I think he's too like mask vibes for that.

SPEAKER_03

I think he's too much of a competitor. Yeah, we did jump around a bit there because I I was talking about this earlier, but this I think was they the tribe being convinced that Rich is like so down in the dumps, they're looking at him, he's like, actually, I think he's really depressed. I think they actually stole his clothes off of him. He's in big trouble, guys. So I think they believed him, which I think is quite hilarious because it seems so far-fetched.

SPEAKER_00

Um well they like stage that whole blazer thing and they throw the hat.

SPEAKER_03

He's like, I guess you can have it and stuff. Rich obviously played it up quite well because they believed him.

SPEAKER_00

They thought he was to have a cuddle with Simon. I get it. I've been doing the same. They'd be like, Simon, come over here. Let's have the cuddle. But then it gets real. Then it's like, no, no, they want us to throw. Uh, and it's like, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Kind of has that that that hug a little too long, which his tribe don't really like. They're thinking, wait, maybe he's not communicating that. That was too long for him to say that. So maybe he's saying other things as well, which puts him in a bit of hot water.

SPEAKER_00

This is what I like about when they do the tribe stop, because this shit happens. It's like throwing becomes on the cards, which I love, and all of that, because it's like you've established these alliances already. Maybe if you want to keep them going, you can.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Funny bit in this challenge when Brooke gets on Jackson's shoulders and the god on god calls them a megazord. He's like, Brooke and Jackson are a megazord. I was like, that was good. I was like, more of that, GG.

SPEAKER_03

More creativity. I have noted there's been a lack of sexual puns, which maybe JLP's maybe he's trademarked them. Maybe they're not allowed to use them. Maybe he's got maybe he's got all the the credentials on that.

SPEAKER_00

I think he doesn't want to spit in the face of JLP.

SPEAKER_03

I I think there's a bit of like that's his thing, it's not my thing. Maybe he's just wanting to avoid it.

SPEAKER_00

His thing is becoming passive aggression at tribal, which I'm so into. Just being like, no, mate, I'm just listening, I'm just taking it all in. Uh Baron Wynn sending bounty back to tribal. Uh so no throttle cannot catch a break, to be honest.

SPEAKER_03

Tribal after tribal after tribal. I think some of them have been because they swapped, been more like just almost every tribal.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no. Rich is like, fucking hell. Uh Keely tells Mark she's down to vote Lindell, and Mark is thrilled.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, look, I I'm sad because I think Lindell was actually quite good, and I'm disappointed she couldn't use her idol, which wasn't an idol, which got confiscated. So we all thought, like, oh, maybe she'll use her idol, but they didn't mention it, so obviously they have no idea what that where that idol was or vanished.

SPEAKER_00

They would have played up she left with an idol in her pocket. So I I think it was gone. Correct. And they just forgot to tell us.

SPEAKER_03

Well, they're just like, no, let's just not even bring it up.

unknown

Pretty much.

SPEAKER_00

Head office say that they are love bombing Rich and Lindell at this point.

SPEAKER_03

Which is working. Like Rich and Lindell are like, sweet, we're on the ends, like we got no issues here. Sounds like we're we're we're we're all cruzy or all sweet with these guys, and then and then they find out later that no, too bad to third.

SPEAKER_00

And uh Tez the Caleb split vote was the cover, which was pretty tricky. Cat Keely's behind all this. I reckon she's the top dwarf then we get Tez's Greek backstory uh with some lovely authentic Greek music, and we learn that he's the youngest of six, which checks out. Yeah, and we also learned this week that he is a lawyer, he is a master.

SPEAKER_03

I think they could when they first gave him a confession this week, they put it in the bottom, and I was just like, wait, this guy's a lawyer? Yeah, I love that.

SPEAKER_01

This guy fighting could be cool. Is that how he's gonna act in a depression situation? I don't know if this guy's ready to take on a court case.

SPEAKER_00

So good. And he said he was a super fan as well. That bit I was like, hmm.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's funny when you watch Survivor and you see people on the cast who don't get much airtime or they don't really seem like they're doing that well. Obviously, I I think Channel Channel is trying to cast people that they think are gonna be good at the show, outgoing and stuff, but then there's these people that I think it kind of happens two ways, and we saw it this season, where someone's a super fan and they go a little bit too crazy at the start, and everyone goes, Oh man, you're too.

SPEAKER_00

See you later.

SPEAKER_03

Which is what which would happen, which is what happened with the the pastor at the very beginning. He was a bit like, Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to be here, so I'm gonna say all these things, and they were like, Well man, chill out, you're too sketchy, see you later. Or they do the opposite and they clam up, they don't want to say a word because they're they're there wanna stay to the end, they want to stay to the end and they have no does like they don't want to make any moves because they're scared of getting voted out for making anything. So Tez, poor little Tez, is like throughout his this when they first finally give him some airtime, is a bit very much just like, oh, oh no, I didn't I didn't say a name.

SPEAKER_02

They they asked me to put a name out. I said, I no, and I don't mean to use your name, but like it was only only because they asked me, I was like, mate, just tell her you used her name.

SPEAKER_00

Don't go up and this is this awkward bit where Rich is like Rich gets so CEO on Tez, and he's like, So I'd be down to work with you. Do you want to just throw out some names? And Tez is like, oh yeah, what about maybe um oh I don't know, Faith? And Rich is like, thanks. Oh, I'm gonna take that on board and we'll circle back later. And then like later on, he's like, So um, I really like your style, Tez. I've really been thinking about um when you said that name before, Faith. I was like, I could be down at some point to maybe potentially action that. I was like, fuck, he's placating him so hard. It's upper management bullshit.

SPEAKER_02

And Tez just gets so terrified that he literally takes that own information to her and goes, so I mentioned your name, but only because they told me to, but I didn't really mean it. And I'm not really working with them.

SPEAKER_00

Like you could see he was just crumbling into his little for Tez in that one moment where Rich is giving him all this bullshit, and then Tez goes, Well, sometime or tonight? I was like, Yes. But I love that, but also it's like you gotta kind of people are gonna talk so much shit to you in this game, you have to be prepared for that. I don't think trying to get people to speak truthfully to you is gonna work. So maybe there's a time and a place. Try and figure it out without letting everyone know that you're doing that. I think.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, look, time and a place and making good TV. Mark knows how to do it, going straight up to Johnson and be like, you put my name out. That was and Johnson being like, Oh no, I don't know what you're talking about. I don't do that. That was perfect, loved that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Rich is worried though, because he's like, When you feel confident, that's when blind sides happen. Uh anyway, so this tribal um Rich discusses eye contact and whispers at tribal. He's like, they can either be nerve-wracking or reassuring. And then we get this awkward Tez GG moment. You get confused when I speak.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just soaking it all in. Taking it in. Very professional.

SPEAKER_00

If someone spoke to me like that, I would be like, fuck you.

SPEAKER_03

But I'm like, you know what? Yeah, I am confused because you're speaking in circles, mate. What are you telling me?

unknown

Poor Tessie.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, poor T. I do feel sorry for the man, really. Like, he's just he's just having rings run around him and he just doesn't want to do anything. You know, I was like, uh, it's it's it's actually it's like a wounded puppy, and you're like, someone put it out.

SPEAKER_00

And I really thought it was his time because of all of the backstory in this episode. I thought he was out this episode, but no, yeah, there's a few Tezers and Kayla's, but then the Lindels roll in and they get her. She's blindsided, she's out of there, with or without an idol in her pocket. We don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Um, this was the opportunity for Tez to Yeah, he could have he should have done something, he should have tried something. This is when he said, Look, Rich, they're not with you. They told me to vote for you. Yeah, you're gone. You might as well work with me now. But nah, he just kind of didn't too scared to do anything.

unknown

Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

Sadly.

SPEAKER_00

Ep9 was a supersized ep, and it was called Don't Talk Dirty to Me.

SPEAKER_03

That was a very funny line from Simon. I did have a good chuckle. Simon was the star of this episode.

SPEAKER_00

This was this episode was the return of dumb baby Simon, who is my favorite version of Simon, where he kind of does this look. He kind of looks sexy and terrified. Uh, and we got that again. And I was like, Yes, we're back. This is how this is how Simon we know and love. It is. We start with Tez having a sook. Um, and this is when I was like, babes, you need to chill. Like, you could have turned this around, I think, but or tried at the very least. Yeah, having a big sook about it was not good. He was like, Oh my god, people were like saying names to me, but then like changing the names and then like not wanting to do the thing and not telling me who it was until later. And I was like, Have you seen this show?

SPEAKER_03

But then goes into his confession be like, Oh, I was just playing dumb the whole time because I knew what I was doing.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, mate, I was playing dumb, and then the wink to camera, I was like, I'm not buying that sauce.

SPEAKER_01

No, I was like, No, mate, you literally had no idea what don't try and climb yourself out of the hole that's being dug.

SPEAKER_00

The wink to camera was a lot.

SPEAKER_03

He was saving face for when it aired on TV. He was like, I want people to know that I'm smarter than I actually am. I need to be hired as a lawyer when I'm older.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Caleb living because Caleb's like, I'm off the hook, it's all Tez. So I've I've um saved my bacon for another little a little while.

SPEAKER_03

We had a good I'm a bit disappointed this week, actually. We haven't seen lots of Caleb. We saw lots of Caleb sort of last week. This week kind of like faded into the background, but I want to see more of Caleb. I love the chaotic, crazy Caleb. It's fun.

SPEAKER_00

Honestly, uh there's moments that I'm like, oh yeah, you're fun. And then there's other moments where I'm like, it's actually a bit cringe, the Caleb show. Not gonna lie. That night when he came back and was like full overstimulated and was like I was like, settle, but he's chilled a little bit this week. Maybe that spooked him because he did say a little too much and he had to apologize the next day, and suddenly like where they're like, Oh, yeah, they wanna wanna fight me outside the car park, him and Jackson at the tribal. I was like, Yeah, not that. Yeah, at New Baron, Keely and Faith are double dipping, they've got the three wise women and the head office, um, and they're like Mark gets jealous when we date other people. We're like the sister wives, sister wives, that was very funny. They just can't they they can't help themselves coming up, they're just coming up with name after name.

SPEAKER_03

It's great, and they're thinking, well, well, I don't know if they should be. I'm loving it. Keep going, take it more further.

SPEAKER_00

I say, new alliance name every day. Every episode for the same people. Really pissed Dan off. They're like, we need it for the promo. They eventually agree as well, though, that Mark at some point needs to go.

SPEAKER_03

Well, they finally have said out loud, as far as we know, that they think they have the numbers to get rid of him on the next vote, which I don't believe they'll do. It seems like they're not going to do it this soon, but I think that means Mark is going to make it to merge, and I think that's probably where he's going to be most dangerous because he's kind of managed to put his fingers in a lot of pies.

SPEAKER_00

And Simon is kind of feeling a little bit on the outs because we're getting Suki Baby Simon again. And him and Jackson, who are broing their bromance is palpable and would watch that. Release Aisha. Oh, sorry, realize that Acia is calling the shots. And they yes, she is. And they are terrified of her because she is killing her.

SPEAKER_03

She's doing like she honestly is doing a very good job. She seems comfortable and pretty. And you know, credit to the editing team. They're like, oh, she's sitting so pretty, and she's literally in the water. Like they're just like, perfect editing. Her looking like she's having the best time of her life.

SPEAKER_00

They do that with Kirby, you remember? They're like a princess Kirby. She's just having a bubble bath. And she was just laughing in the water. Oh my god. Um, he canvasses a Ben. Sorry, this is Jackson. He canvasses Ben. He's like, So are you on board to split up Lottie and Aisha from being the Queens kind of vibe of the triumph? And then this is when the Beauty and the Beasts Alliance is born.

SPEAKER_03

Which again, not a great name, but I think the pe the they've got I think they've got the people. I think they're those I I believe that those five want to do it.

SPEAKER_00

Also, not an accurate name because there is not one beast. It's it's Simon, Dan, Jackson, Laws, and Brooke. Very like those three men are very good looking, as is Brooke. So I'm like, yeah, not a great name.

SPEAKER_03

Or maybe, maybe they were just pandering to Laws a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

We just need some creative minds on this tribe to help them out. At this immunity challenge, maybe Keely needs to give them some ideas on some names. Yeah, exactly. Get her over. We learned that it's a double tribal. But they don't get all the deets on that, and they're all a bit stressed about it, which we'll get to in a minute. But they I I really liked this twist. So it was a rock pool for pairs, and then how it was gonna work was you played this endurance challenge with your pair partner from the other tribe, and the winners together both win individual mutity. What do you think of that?

SPEAKER_03

I I thought there was one flaw to it. And I'm gonna mention that was well, there was kind of two flaws to it. Yes, two people sat out and immediately didn't have any opportunity to get it. Yeah, but also the second floor. I I was gonna say, or maybe I'll mention it later when we start talking about the tribal, but I'll just mention it now. They they they handed out two necklaces, but when you find out later that one tribe's not even gonna be there, it becomes completely useful.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, that abs that drove me insane. And then all of a sudden, and you can just give it to someone else. We're not gonna labour that point, but if you ask if you can give it to someone else, then you absolutely can love either.

SPEAKER_03

Survivor people, if you've known seen it before, you know that like you can give away your immunity neck as a tribal if you really want to.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but most people don't on the same tribe. So I don't know. I I think that did need to be I think that absolutely did need to be spelled out because he ended up giving it to someone not on the tribe.

SPEAKER_03

I know, but then it was just again, which made that one completely redundant. Yeah, I I honestly think they should have played for just one immunity. One person gets immune, and then that's just it.

SPEAKER_00

Or two people. Do the two people think because I quite liked how that worked, how they worked had to work together with someone from the other tribe. It created an opportunity to have a bit more drama, you know. All of them talking was great, and that was really, really good. TV Jackson and Mark, particularly really having a key key. Um, so I thought that was good, but then yeah, maybe then it should have just been one tribal. I also kind of would have liked to see two people go. I I thought that was what we were doing, and then when I was one person went, I was like, oh it yeah, it felt redundant.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, they could have gotten rid of two now and had a non-elimination episode later down the track. But I I think they should have either gotten rid of two, had two votes, two separate tribal, two votes, rather. And then don't get me wrong, I love seeing a fire-making challenge too, which we'll come to. But I love a fire making challenge. I love watching it.

SPEAKER_00

It was a long way to get to a very uh an outcome that we all saw coming all week.

SPEAKER_03

100%. Yeah, so the two necklaces I think became redundant when they just said, Oh, well, now one tribe's leaving. Like, well, what's why do they have the necklace then? They can't do anything with it. It became useless.

SPEAKER_00

So like my gods there being like, look, guys, I'm just listening, just taking it all in. Uh, do you know what bit I did love in this challenge though?

SPEAKER_03

Was uh Rich begging for Simon to which was very clearly because he was not lasting much longer.

SPEAKER_00

Shaking his arms, come on, help me. Anything we learn from this week, it's like stop asking Simon to throw something. He's not gonna he can't, he's not gonna fucking do it. He didn't do it at fire by the end of this episode. Didn't do it in the individual one. He's not gonna do it at fire, just stop. He's uh he's a little tiny man, baby. He needs to win.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, huh? He was never he considered it. He thought about it, and then his tribe was like, don't throw physically impossible.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh, I loved Usher here eye rolling at the show ponying of Simon when he won. So Simon and Faith win. Uh and then at New Baron, so we get two different pre-tribal bits. Um at New Baron, it's all about Usher getting the ick from Simon.

SPEAKER_03

But also just saying we need to get Brooke out, can't get Simon this time, save Simon for later. Brooke's the next one, yeah. Which I was like, oh, Brooke's in hot water, but has an idol, so maybe this will be up. But then also knowing that only one person was gonna go home at the end of the episode, I was like, well, maybe it's not our time.

SPEAKER_00

That frustrated me too, because we got all this strap chat, particularly from Asha, who's incredible at strategy. She was thinking about every 3D chest example. She was thinking about if it was double, if it was a single, you know, yeah, if there was gonna be some other twist. So love that, but then to for it to kind of not none of that mean anything in the episode. I was a bit annoyed.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_00

New book though, we've got Rich um clinging on for dear life at this point as the last remaining OG bounty and Mark and Faith uh at the well talking about Simon coming into the fault. So they're already thinking about bringing Simon in later on. What did you think about that?

SPEAKER_03

Um well, I think that Simon has been in a little bit of a hot water, well, not hot water, I would say, but given that he is a returning player, kind of fumbles his way through the game sometimes, sometimes he hits the nail on the head. I think his time isn't gonna last forever, so he's kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place and kind of has to jump on whatever he can get offered in some circumstances. So if they come to him and offer him a spot like if I was him, what would I do? Probably say yes.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. At this tribal, they are all together at the start, anyway. Uh, and then um we get Simon telling us that his butt has been spanked raw. Uh loved this bit. To which Golden God says, Who's handing out the spankings? Survivor Daddy.

SPEAKER_03

Great, could not love that more.

SPEAKER_00

10 out of 10. This was again, I was like, I was like, he waited a few weeks and now he's like, We're on. Yeah, I'm still on a JLP shtick.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so fantastic. And then just jumping to the very end of the episode where he's like, Well, remember, if you're not the one doing the spanking, you're probably getting spanked. I was like, Yes!

SPEAKER_00

Finally, finally, it's all humming with GG because he's taken a little while to warm into it. Yeah, he's he's cooking with Gas now. Uh, we also get the Jackson and Caleb thing, which was yeah, this was uh they genuinely want to punch on, and I wasn't I know.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, I don't know why they were so offended that he was wearing, was imitating Harry, and it's just like mate, chill out, it's TV.

SPEAKER_00

Like I think those two kind of are a little bit in the same bucket, they're kind of like scrappy fighter boys, and I think they just don't like each other because of that, maybe. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Well, one's a wrestler, so it makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, then there's a twist. Gigi reveals that only one tribe will vote. Uh, first they have to pick a hero. This, okay, I'm really sorry. Hated this. It just was like not good TV to watch them pick someone to do fire. And they took so fucking long to do it. But he threatened them, he was like, pick someone, or we're just gonna go to rocks. He's like, I've got a fucking massage booked at the villa in 25 minutes. Can you guys pick?

unknown

Pick.

SPEAKER_00

I was GG at that moment too. I was like, let's get to the vote, please.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Fire making challenge, though, I do love, and it was Mark versus Simon.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, the the the the returnees versus the returnees.

SPEAKER_00

This was interesting, though. There was a lot of like, what was that like sheet that was held up at one point? Don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I think they they wrap everything in a tarp for you to collect, and he was picking up the tarp and using it as a shield.

SPEAKER_00

It was windy.

SPEAKER_03

It was very windy, which worked. Successfully paid off for him. And they're like, wait, he's gonna throw the challenge, he's definitely doing a bad job, and he was just actually doing a bad job.

SPEAKER_00

Lottie was whispering to Simon to Rich being like, Simon is meant to be throwing, so if he's not throwing right now, that's on him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um, and then came from behind and proceeded, got it through. But again, it's not can't help himself, he just has to win. Lottie I mean, he kind of did say he wasn't gonna throw, but I don't know. If they wanted someone to throw, they shouldn't have put him up, they should have known this by now.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. Put up anyone but Simon.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, maybe it's part of his little strategy. He's like, no, I kind of want to keep Brooke around, so because that's a good shield for me.

SPEAKER_00

So and then we get to this was also really awkward. On their way out, the the new baron tribe, Simon's like, Oh, so um, I would like to gift this necklace to Rich. And then Faith is like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

It's okay, you don't need to, don't even worry about honey.

SPEAKER_00

She's like this, doesn't need it. What are you doing, girl?

SPEAKER_02

But like at this point, Simon definitely doesn't need it. So, like, why are you trying to convince him not to handle? That's only gonna put him on more high alert.

SPEAKER_01

So stupid. I was like, what are you doing? You're making yourself look like an absolute.

SPEAKER_00

I thought that was terrible gameplay because like effectively, in front of everyone, you're kind of giving away a lot. I don't know. I thought that was crazy.

SPEAKER_03

But no, man, don't even worry about it, mate. You just take it back where you're not gonna need it either. But certainly don't give it to Rich. He's definitely not gonna need it. Silly. As soon as Rich had that necklace, he kind of knew. And then he like, I mean, again, poor boy. He tries to pull Mark and Keely aside and said, I don't want this to be how my story ends, so how about we do this?

SPEAKER_02

And they're like, Okay, and then go sit back down, and that's the end of the conversation.

SPEAKER_03

Like, oh it was never never playing out that way. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, what a week. Great week. Loving this season. What are your hopes and predictions for the rest of a redemption?

SPEAKER_03

Who's getting a lot of redeemed? We're getting a lot of mark on our screens, which makes me think he's going pretty far. Can he win? I think that's gonna be hard for him. Yeah, but you know, we're starting to see a bit more of Keely, a bit more of Acia step up. Like, it could be one of those guys getting to the end. Um I mean, who am I hoping to win? You know what? I I don't think it'll happen, but I would love Simon to win. Simon, like, it would be a beautiful little redemption story for him.

SPEAKER_00

And he's also just redemption.

SPEAKER_03

He's just like a big teddy bear, he just kind of like fumbles his way through the game, sometimes makes lands on a good decision, sometimes makes a mistake. And it's so fun to watch. I'm like, oh, I'd kind of like if that guy won.

SPEAKER_00

I would love that too, actually. I haven't even thought about who I would like to win, but yeah, that would be good. If it's a newbie, I'd probably want it to be Keeley or Asher because I think they are playing really hard.

SPEAKER_03

I think Asher's probably has a better a better chance.

SPEAKER_00

She's maybe playing too hard though to win because people might take her out soon as she's too threatening.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, yeah, we'll see. Yeah, I'd it's just I'm just so happy to have Australian Survivor on our screens. Uh no notes, really.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, absolutely no notes. It's good. I'm I'm loving it. The host change was obviously a big kerfuffle before it happened, but I think it's been quite successful. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um especially blooming this week with Survivor Daddy. The real star of the show this week. Yeah, thank you.

SPEAKER_03

He took the feedback, took the feedback and applied.

SPEAKER_00

Amazing. Well, Josh, thank you so much for joining me this week on the pod.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, thank you so much for having me. It's been an absolute pleasure. I love talking to Survivor, so anytime.

SPEAKER_00

Sounds good, doll. Bye-bye.

SPEAKER_03

Bye-bye.
